I think I’m going to try to read at least the first book of the Barsoom series before I see John Carter. I only just read the foreword of A Princess of Mars; and, in spite of the kind of silly title and the absolute pulp it promises to be, I feel sucked in. Anyway, it’s so old that it’s a copyright-free book (and therefore free to download from Project Gutenberg or FeedBooks). I’m a fan of free things.
